Updates

So, not sure I told you but I was supposed to have a makeup trial the other weekend. This chick is from LA but comes up to SB all the time and she's offering to do trial makeup for free and the day of the wedding she's just asking that you pay the $25 kit fee (what ever that means). So, as I rushed home that Saturday a couple of weeks ago I sat at home and waited. Joey and I had an appointment with our Coordinator at 1:30 and we were supposed to start at noon. Once 1 pm came around and I had heard nothing from the make up girl we decided to leave. I was really annoyed but also thought it was really strange that I didn't get an email from her or anything. I sent her an email asking if anything had happened and that I had waited for over an hr. I didn't hear back. I think it was by Tuesday that I sent her another email (now I was worried) and asked if everything was ok. I got a reply back shortly after from her mom saying that she had had an accident and was in the hospital. She's ok and she will be out in a while and then she will contact me. TG she's ok - I just got a funny feeling something wasn't right and I sure know how LA traffic can be.

Anyhoo... So, Nicole, a friend of mine is going to do her trial on me this Saturday. Very exciting. :) This time I'll make sure to take some pictures.

Also, since I'm sure you all know - the white iPhone 4 has finally arrived! Joey and I are going tomorrow during lunch to see if we can get our hands on one for me. I'm so snobby I'll only get the white one. :) hahha

Although I have a 32 GB right now, I think b/c of finances we'll have to get me the 16GB. SHould be just fine - it's just hard to go smaller once you've had a big one LMAO

I'm doing half day at work tomorrow since I have to "work" all of Sunday. We're traveling to our Texas office and then will be there Monday and Tuesday working. Tuesday night we're flying to Tulsa, Oklahoma to see some customers and after that - Thursday morning we're flying home.

Also, tomorrow I have a few errands to run and then we're going to a Happy Hr hosted by Pure Joy Catering company, should be fun. AND THEN!!! Home to my friend Amy so we can watch THE ROYAL WEDDING!!!

So excited for them! I can't even imagine how nervous they both must be. To marry a prins! What a dream :) Although, all that responsibility must be tough. I wish them all the best with their wedding and future lives together.

Can I make my own bouquet?

So, I've been thinking that I can make my own bouquet. I bought some accessories at Michaels and some flowers from Trader Joe's. Here's what I started with:

The knife I didn't need - went with scissors. There's purple ribbon, water proof tape, floral tape and some pins

These are the flowers I started with. I took off all the greens etc. so that there was just the stems and flower itself

Here's the final result. I know it's kind of crappy but it's my first time so be nice! hahha

I always think the pictures with flowers and engagement rings are so pretty that I decided to try it myself. LOL the lighting isn't great and it's taken with a camera phone but what ever.... hahaha

Joey and I decided to do "date-night" on Saturday night and we went to this bbq place that we haven't been at before. We used our Axxess card which gives us deals around town and at this place we got buy one get one free so here's what we got:

Joey's plate is up top with ribs, chicken, corn on the cob and greens. My plate is on the bottom with ribs, mac n cheese and corn on the cob. Note that I only ate 4 ribs before I was stuffed. We now have lots of left overs and Joey is very happy hahaha

Ok, I think Joey and I are about to sit down and watch Tron as we never saw it when it was out. I hope you all had a good Easter and I want to give a shout out to a good friend of mine - Susanne!!! It's her birthday today and I hope she had an amazing day.

Parking tickets and a smashed face - what a Tuesday!

So, Amy and I went to work out with our trainer as we do every week. Well there is this one thing that I really dislike doing and it always pisses me off. Well of I go and BAM! Smashed the thing right on my lip! I could feel it swell up so I walk to the bathroom with my hand covering my mouth (rush hr at the gym and I didn't want to look like a freak - although walking around covering my mouth probably looked like I needed to hurl!) I get to the bathroom and just rinse my mouth with cold water. It was a bit red and swollen but not too bad. Amy came in to check on my but I was fine. We walked back out and got right back into the work out. Amy then decides to show us how I shouldn't do it and BAM! hahahaha She smashed her teeth but not as hard as I did. Hilarious!!!

After the work out we both realize that we have a freakin $48 parking ticket!!! I thought they were $30?! Since when did they go up??? Oh, that's right - the city doesn't have any money so to not fire ppl they tell them to go out and ticket anything they see. Although, I know it was risky parking there since we are not supposed to park there before 6 pm and we were there at like 5:15... My bad so now I have to try and find that cash somewhere to pay.... *sigh*

On to happier news - Joey talked to the DJ today and he told Joey that he got booked for an episode of "My Fair Wedding With David Tutera"!!! That tells me how legit he is because D.T only hires the best of the best!!! And he will MC (like when we walk in he will announce us and he'll try to get ppl to dance and be interactive) and he's got lights and everything. How amazing for the price he's charging :) I'm very excited. 

Today my boss and I booked travel for the first week in May. We'll be going to Dallas, TX to hang out in our office there for a couple of days and then we are flying to Tulsa, OK to see some customers. We are leaving here on Sunday morning and then flying back Thursday morning. I'm excited but also a bit nervous.

Ok, I'm gonna watch some tv and then crash.

So, we decided on Joni Lynn Photography. She's the one offering the most for cheapest. Here's what we get:

Can't remember if I've forgotten anything else. We also decided on a DJ. Rick Brown from Get down with the Brown's in LA. He's cheaper than anyone in town AND he's driving from LA!!! We are also getting a friend discount since Teddy has known this guy for like 20 years.

Getting all these deals is amazing but it's still expensive considering we're paying for everything. We are trying to save as much as we can but I'm still not sure it will be enough. With a wedding comes a lot of stress. There's so much stress that I think we're both forgetting to have fun with the whole experience.

We are now waiting for a quote from the catering company and the rental company. We need to rent:
Linens
Glass (all kinds)
Silverware
Chair covers

Sigh..... all that stuff is so pricey! :( Booo But I can say that I'm very excited that we have this down

Catering (just need the quote for pricing)

AND then we need to go cake tasting - I'm very much looking forward to that and I know Joey is as well hahahah

Today I did some cardio and weights and I'm trying to do chicken salad for lunch this week. I need to get in tip top shape for the engagement pictures. :)

I have a wedding dress!

We talked to Tony this morning and after that Joey and I agreed on which photographer we want. You'll have to wait a little longer before I tell you who it is :) After talking to Tony we went to pick up my ring and I'm so happy to have it back!!! Now my finger feels "normal" again hahahahah

After this my mom and I went to Jinny's bridal to try on my dress again - I managed to get my little sister, Carolin, on Skype. We couldn't hear her but she could hear us as well as see so she got to see the dress. :) I have pictures but my mom and I agreed to keep it a secret so you'll all have to wait until May 12th of 2012 to see it. hahaha

I can tell you that it's beautiful though!!! I'm so excited. We placed an order and I won't get it until August 15th probably. I don't want to wait! I'm want it now and I don't want to ever take it off hahahha

Then after that Joey and I drove back to SB. Took us over 3 hrs with traffic - very frustrating. As soon as we got home Joey took off to the gym and I'm no waiting for him to come back home so we can eat dinner (at like 9pm...sigh)

Ashley Simpson and Joey's Birthday

I can't remember if I told you that my mom sat next to Ashley Simpson at a restaurant in LA? Anyway they were there because her friend from Texas was getting married and so my mom started talking about me getting married and as Ashley was leaving she told my mom to wish me luck with my wedding planning and my future wedding. How cool is that? I get so starstruck still hahahaha

So, it was Joey's birthday on April 13th. We celebrated by making pannbiff. It's a Swedish dish - google it if you don't know what it is :)

After talking to Tony we are off to Lugano Diamonds to get my ring back! Re-sized and re-dipped!!! When done with this we need to stop by OnQueStyle if there's time so I can talk to Sicely then at noon we have an appointment with Jinny's Bridal in Huntington Beach to try on my dress again! We are going to try to Skype/FaceTime with my two sisters. One is in NYC and the other in Sweden. Should be a true test of technology :)

My AWESOME baby sister!

I got home after work today and there was a package waiting for me on the couch. It was a care package from my little baby sister!!!

She made a calendar of pictures we took when her and her fiance Emil came to visit. There's a magazine with info on Swedish weddings, a Swedish book, Polly, Kex chocklad, Plopp, Geisha AND - She actually made me an apron from scratch and also had left over fabric for two decorative towels. Um... Hello!! How awesome is this?! And she also wrote me a long letter that touched my heart. I miss her a lot - she lives in Sweden and it's too far away. 

I would love it if my family back home came to live here. I need to win the lotto so I can move them over here and they don't ever have to work again. How awesome would that be??? I could finally be close to my whole family! Not to mention my older sister who lives in NYC. Perhaps we could all spend time in Sweden, Santa Barbara and NYC. How cool :)

I found "The One"!

I found my dress! I'm so excited!!! Mom and I went to Jinny's Bridal in Huntington Beach on Saturday afternoon this past weekend. I tried on a few dresses but none really caught my eye and then there was this one dress that my mom picked out and so I told the sales girl:

Let's just try it on since my mom picked it so she can be happy.

Well, turns out I LOVE IT!!! :) I could never figure out how people just knew that it was their dress. But i had it on and just stood there and looked and looked and looked and then all of a sudden I just wanted to cry. I felt so beautiful and the dress is amazing. The store does not allow pictures until you have purchased the dress - I guess they don't want you taking the picture and shopping around for a cheaper dress? The store is really decently priced and turns out Amy got her dress there as well as her sister and sister-in-law! :) It's a small world.

Before I found the dress of my dreams Joey and I stopped by Lugano Diamonds to drop off my ring to get it re-sized. It was too big. For some reason I always thought my ring sz was 5 3/4 but I guess I can get away with a 5. Decided on 5 1/4 just because sometimes during summer your fingers swell up so I want to make sure it's still comfortable to wear.

It's Joey's birthday on Wednesday, April 13th so we both had decided to take Fri the 15th off. Lucky us since we now have to drive back down south to pick up the ring, meet a photographer and try on the dress again. Most likely we will drive back home on Fri night. I have an appt with a potential makeup artist at noon on Saturday then we are taking our coordinator to lunch right after to talk details. 

Tomorrow work is doing happy hr at Endless Summer Cafe so I'll miss out on working out - again!!! 

After happy hr is done I'll have to go buy groceries for Joey's birthday dinner on Wednesday. He wants pannbiff with potatoes (Swedish meal) and after that he might have a softball game.

News!

Ok, so first off - last weekend Joey and I were walking around down town. There's this booth that's been there forever but I've never bothered to stop before. They sell straightening irons and curling irons and such. I sat down and he demonstrated that the straightening iron can be used to either straighten or curl and that this is the latest technology and such. Well after talking to them for a while and totally making clear that I cannot afford to buy one just yet - but perhaps in May they offered to curl my hair. My hair just does not hold curl but this time - it did! I was sooo in love with my hair for the rest of the weekend!!! Here's a pic that Joey took

Ok, on to the next - We have got our reception venue people - Greek Orthodox Church! I am sending them a check for the deposit tomorrow. YAY!!!! Here are two videos that I took today when they showed us around. The older woman is the coordinator at the church and the other woman is Ann our coordinator and then there's Joey :)

Monday my boss asked me to come in early on Wednesday which means to be there at 6:30 A.M. Eeeekkk So, Tuesday I woke up at 5:30 no idea why. Then I wasn't able to go to sleep until after 10:30pm sometime then I actually woke up at 4:30 - ugggghhhhh and then I snoozed until the alarm went off at 5:45. No bueno. Got to leave work at 4:10 and then off to a work related happy hr so I didn't get home until 7 P.M. It's been a long day and I'm so ready to just crash out

Time to eat dinner and then go to sleep :)

Creative Catering Services

So, I'm back home from the first catering tasting. I have to say - John is definitely THE nicest guy and he's so willing to work with what we want. The food was great and it gave us an idea of other food we would like to have as well. I forgot to take a picture when we were there but here is a pic of the chicken and file with roasted potatoes and veggies

I know it might not look as appetizing in the pic but it did taste good lol

The salad was organic local greens with blue cheese and a raspberry dressing

We have another tasting scheduled for the last of April. Joey asked me today - so.. can we taste from other places as well? hahaha We can taste from all the places we want - this is the one time to do it!!! I guess I'll have to set up some more tastings LOL

I'm so happy it's Friday AND my boss let me out early - whohooo!

Joey and I had lunch together at Fresco North in Goleta today. Very yummie. I had a salad and he has a halibut burger

I had to put the #34 there b/c he's turning 34 on April 13th so I thought it was perfect timing for a pic!

After lunch I went back to lunch and actually had a fight with a co-worker. He's so annoying!!! We were arguing about how I work out. Yes, you heard right. He said I was barely moving on the stairmaster yesterday and I said I wasn't. I also added that I was the one who was working out so I would know best how I work out! AAAHhhh this person drives me insane I tell you!!!

I'm so excited about the CSC tasting tonight! I'll let you know later how it all went.
